Internship Opportunity

TITLE: Research Technician

LOCATION: ABG Ag Services has a research farm located near Kirklin, IN with offices on the North side of Indianapolis.

POSITION DESCRIPTION: The intern will assist the contract research group in research plot setup, implementation, data collection, and maintenance.

Responsibilities include:

• Planting research plots
• Spraying research plots with handheld or tractor mounted sprayers
• Collecting plot information in a timely manner
• Maintaining plots according to protocol and using GPS equipment to measure and mark plots

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have farm experience and be knowledgeable in production agriculture
• Must be able to operate and transport farm machinery in a safe manner
• Must be self motivated and work independently with ability to multi-task
• Must be willing to travel out of state as needed to provide support for ongoing research in soybeans, corn and cotton
• Must enjoy working outdoors

TRANSPORTATION: Selected individual is responsible for daily transportation to and from work. Transportation will be provided at the research farm.

HOUSING: Housing is not provided. Our research farm and office are within reasonable driving distance from West Lafayette.
